Without a word He removed the mufflers from my spiritual ears. I could hear the music with great clarity. Yet, I no longer heard various instruments—only drums. Its rhythm changed to a tribal beat. “Lord, what do you want to show me?”
The Lord showed me a group of native Indians dancing vigorously. They danced relentlessly. Never stopping, never slowing. It was a war dance—a dance for freedom.
I opened my eyes. The sanctuary was the same. The band played on and the people sang their praise to God. Several minutes later the song changed and I watched in wonder as one by one people stepped to the front of the sanctuary. Together, young and old, male and female shared the sacred space at the altar—and danced.
There is a war raging for our freedom and joy. I can feel the impact on my own life. Certainly you notice the tension in yours. The Lord is urging us to fight for our freedom. Our weapon in the battle is none other than the act of worship. Whether it be a skip, jump, or sway take a risk for your breakthrough. Our freedom is found in—the dance.
Will you dance for your freedom?

YES!!! Who did God send in front of the warriors? Worshipers. To march around Jericho, to step into the Jordan. Yes.
ReplyDeleteGreat visual, I bear witness with the prophetic meaning- it is a "macro" work of freedom that God is doing specifically in the body of Christ in Rancho Cucamonga Ca.- Authority based out of oneness, revelation of the finished work of Christ resulting in rest and joy instead of striving. Revealed Identity creates boldness
ReplyDeleteI most definitely feel the effects of the war raging for my freedom. As the Hillsong song so eloquently reminds us, "The enemy has been defeated!" Amen!
ReplyDeleteI too heard the wardance with each beat of the drums and I saw great freedom. I also saw the cross, specifically that which Satan intended to be the death of Christ with each sound of the hammer piercing the nail into Jesus's hand on the cross, the piercing sound was actually the hammer breaking the chains of those enslaved both then and now. What Satan meant for harm, God used to bring great freedom! I heard the clang of the chains breaking off with each connection from the hammer to the nail piercing Jesus' hands. My spirit bears witness with yours, there is a great battle for our freedom and joy! Let us worship and dance before our King, ushering in His presence and ushering in FREEDOM!
ReplyDeleteCOME ON!!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes!!! Oh I will dance! unabashedly and unashamed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura!!!
When I close my eyes in worship I often think about what the 'dance' will be like when we get to heaven. It reminds me of the song 'Imagine' by Amy Grant
ReplyDeleteSurrounded by your glory what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you Jesus? Or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence? Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing Hallelujah? Will I be able to speak at all?
Imagine, I can only Imagine
The power of praise and worship to a beat all His own. It rings in our ears and penetrates the soul and releases our spirit to dance with His. Rise up and dance beloved, rise up and dance! He is calling us to worship and as we do, it resounds in the heavenlies........a war cry for JUSTICE and FREEDOM!
